About Me

People always seem preoccupied with other people. To feed your internet voyerism here is a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Lenox, Massachusetts, which by the way is nowhere near Boston. I grew up in New England loving every minute of it, and still one of my favorite things to go is to go back and just drive around. To me New England looks different, smells different, and feels different form anywhere else in the country. The culture and atmosphere are unparallel. I lived a quarter of a mile from Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co, and a host of other cultural sites. Because of that fell in love with the arts, spending a lot of time around music and theatre.
After high school I attended The College of William and Mary in Virginia. I had an interesting four years there full of ups and downs. I learned a lot about myself and life, as well as the skills necessary to succeed in my career.
After graduation I was recruited by Andersen to work up in DC. Not exactly New England but a good start to get my feet off the ground. I spent two years in the Washington area in various consulting jobs. Watched as the Enron scandal brought down the company I worked for. I found I really didn't like a large city, especially one like DC with the traffic, the people, and the cost. So, I decided to leave. I settled on Richmond, Virginia working for Capital One which I love. Richmond provides the right mix of culture, country, city, and excitement. It's a community not much bigger than Albany or so, with the feel of a small town.
Eventually I plan to go back and get my MBA, but for now, it is all about just trying to get through life one day at a time.
About This Site

This website originally was a way to distribute the many pictures I end up taking through life, but since its inception in early 1999 it has changed domains multiple times and grown quite a bit. Currently I use it to practice the multiple programming languages I am learning (HTML, CGI, CSS, PHP, MySQL) and to vent my frustrations through weblogging in a public way. The blog is an outlet for my frustrations, so whoever reads it, be warned.
The reason I ask that you not steal from this site is that I worked rather hard to come up with the designs and learn the code. However I do not mind at all if you check out the source code and incorporate techniques into your own designs. Just don't copy and past style elements, thats just lame
The programs and objects used to create this site are as follows.
Programming Languages: All webpages are coded directly by hand, originally I had used Notepad, however now I use a free program called Crimson Editor or TextPad. The layout is designed using a mixture of CSS, CSS2 and HTML, in the future I hope to add a bit of XHTML too. The pages are parsed on the fly by PHP. All elements of this site were programmed by me unless otherwise noted and may not be reproduced in any form without prior consent. Learn from my code, don't steal it.
Weblogs: All the weblogs (Including Stonehenge Poet and Dreamscape) are created using MoveableType 3.15
Photography: All pictures on this site were taken by me unless otherwise noted. The digital prints were taken on an Olympus D-460Zoom camera and edited using Adobe Photoshop. The gallery frame in My Back Yard is being generated by Gallery v1.3.3.
